Worship is at the heart of who we are at Mt. Zion Community Church.
Worship is at the very heart of who we are as followers of Jesus Christ. In the Global Methodist Church, we believe worship is the loving response of God’s people to the grace and glory of God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is both a personal devotion and a gathered celebration, where we come before the Lord with gratitude, praise, confession, and commitment.
“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.” — Psalm 29:2
We do not worship to earn God’s favor — we worship because we have already received it. God’s grace calls us, redeems us through Christ, and fills us with the Holy Spirit. Our worship is the joyful response of hearts made new by His love.
John Wesley described this as “a heart strangely warmed” — a life awakened by the presence of God.
“We love because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19
We gather to hear the Scriptures proclaimed, to pray together, to sing praises, to celebrate the sacraments, and to be renewed by the living presence of Christ. Worship invites us to encounter God’s truth and respond in faith, obedience, and love.
“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” — John 4:24
The word liturgy means “the work of the people.” In worship, every believer has a part — not as an audience, but as active participants in glorifying God. Through song, prayer, proclamation, and service, we offer ourselves as “living sacrifices” to the One who gave Himself for us.
“Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God — this is your true and proper worship.” — Romans 12:1
True worship doesn’t end when the benediction is spoken — it continues in how we live each day. Every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, and every deed done in Christ’s name becomes an offering of praise. Worship forms us into people who reflect God’s holiness and share His love in the world. At Mt. Zion CC, we invite you to join us in passionate, Spirit-filled worship — where hearts are lifted, lives are changed, and Christ is glorified. Come as you are, encounter the presence of God, and be renewed for His mission in the world.
“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31
